New Hampshire is actively expanding its electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, showing significant growth in recent years. From 2021 to 2023, direct current fast-charging (DCFC) ports increased by 82%, and Level 2 charging ports grew by 68%. As of early 2025, the state had nearly 700 public charging ports across 273 locations, though this is still less than neighboring states, with most concentrated in the southern regions.
Future growth is largely driven by the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program, allocating an estimated $17.2 million to New Hampshire over five years. The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) is strategically deploying these funds along alternative fuel corridors, primarily key highways like I-93. Planned NEVI stations include new installations on I-93 in Tilton and Woodstock, supplementing existing Electrify America sites in Manchester and Salem. Additional federal grants are also supporting the installation of nearly 200 new charging ports in both urban and rural areas.
Despite these efforts, the state faces challenges, with current infrastructure only meeting a fraction of the projected Level 2 and fast charger needs for 2030. Expanding this network is crucial to support the increasing number of EVs expected on New England roads and to safeguard New Hampshire's tourism economy.

There are currently 285 EV charging stations in New Hampshire, including Tesla Superchargers, ChargePoint, Electrify America, and other networks. This number is growing as new stations are deployed through the NEVI federal program and private investment.
New Hampshire has Level 2 chargers (240V, ideal for daily charging at 12-80 miles/hour) and DC Fast Chargers (DCFC) that can add 100+ miles of range in 20-30 minutes. Connector types include CCS, CHAdeMO, J1772, and Tesla NACS. Use Charge Map USA's filters to find the right charger for your vehicle.
Some Level 2 charging stations in New Hampshire offer free charging, particularly at shopping centers, hotels, and municipal locations. Use Charge Map USA to browse stations across 74 cities in New Hampshire and check individual station details for pricing information.
